The North Carolina Department of Labor's Division of Occupational Safety & Health's (OSHNC) most prestigious program is the Carolina STAR Program. This program is designed for worksites and companies with comprehensive and successful safety and health programs, making them leaders in employee protection. The STAR Program is open to any industry and the public sector with injuries and illness incidence rates and lost workday case rates 50 percent below the state average for their type of business. The Carolina STAR Program is intended as a supplement; a means of encouraging voluntary improvements and expansion of worker protection systems. STAR participants must meet all relevant OSHNC standards and have ongoing safety and health programs. OSHNC verifies qualifications, exempts participants from programmed inspection lists for the duration of their participation, provides necessary technical support, and evaluates the safety and health programs of the participants. Being a North Carolina STAR Contractor demonstrates to your employees and the community that you have successfully implemented a high quality safety and health program and that you are a leader in the safety and health field.
Southern Industrial is honored to be one of the only contractors in North Carolina to have been awarded the OSHNC STAR.
We are currently working on a permanent basis at one STAR sites - GE Aircraft Engines in Research Triangle Park, NC, plus we work on a project basis and on an as needed basis at other STAR sites. We sincerely believe that your company will be pleased with our company's focus on Working Together Safely.
